Gorilla Mode and Gorilla Mode Energy are the ones that caused our most recent debate, and after presenting our arguments and putting the thing to a vote, we came up tied. So, we pulled in a dietitian and a dozen clients to help us with the proper research and testing.

After four weeks of testing, we had some concrete data for an informed decision on which product to recommend to our readers and clients.

Key Differences Between Gorilla Mode And Gorilla Mode Energy

The main difference between Gorilla Mode and Gorilla Mode Energy is that Gorilla Mode has a more extensive list of ingredients.

It delivers 12 ingredients including a stimulant complex formulation and high dose nootropics. In contrast, Gorilla Mode Energy, though effective, offers a simplified formula. My hands-on experience with both allowed me to feel the nuanced impacts of their distinct ingredient profiles.

Our Testing Approach

A mix of my male and female clients showed keen interest in assessing the two pre-workout supplements, Gorilla Mode and Gorilla Mode Energy. To ensure a thorough and unbiased review, we incorporated participants from both genders, recognizing the distinct metabolic responses each might have.

We categorized them into two evenly distributed teams, with each team delving deep into one of the supplements over a span of four weeks.

Before embarking on the evaluation, I meticulously analyzed their current dietary habits, workout patterns, and fitness levels to establish a clear starting point.

Both teams experienced noticeable enhancements in their workout performance and energy levels. However, one supplement subtly stood out, offering a marginally superior boost.

Here are the most important things to consider before you decide on one of these products.

Ingredients

I meticulously analyzed and experienced the effects of the ingredients in both supplements. Caffeine anhydrous and L-Tyrosine, among others, are present in both, but it’s the subtle variations in their concentrations that make a world of difference. Every dosage is backed by scientific precision, ensuring optimal efficacy and safety.

For these ingredients, Gorilla Mode Energy has a higher dosage, and that's why some of our team concluded that it would be the better product.

And while all the above-listed ingredients are scientifically proven, it's important to look at the unique ones in Gorilla Mode as well.

Our dietitian highlighted betaine and creatine. It has been well-studied by the National Strength & Conditioning Association that creatine can help boost strength during resistance training by as much as 8% [1].

Dosage

The potency of a pre-workout supplement often hinges on the precise dosages of its ingredients. In the case of Gorilla Mode and Gorilla Mode Nitric, there are notable disparities.

Gorilla Mode Nitric boasts a 10% higher concentration of L-Citrulline, a compound renowned for enhancing blood flow and muscle pumps. Additionally, it offers a 30% increased dosage of Glycerpump, which aids in hydration and muscle fullness.

The most significant difference, however, is the 50% additional Betaine and Agmatine in Gorilla Mode Nitric. These compounds play pivotal roles in muscle endurance and nitric oxide production, respectively. Understanding these dosage differences is crucial for users to make an informed choice.

Beginner Friendliness

The ideal beginner-friendly product should offer a balanced blend of energy, endurance, and pump without overwhelming the user. Both Gorilla Mode and Gorilla Mode Nitric are touted as suitable for those new to the pre-workout scene.

However, in my experience, Gorilla Mode edges out as the preferable choice for beginners. Its formulation provides a steady boost of energy, thanks to its caffeine content, without the jitters often associated with high-stimulant products.

Moreover, its well-rounded ingredient profile ensures that newcomers receive a comprehensive introduction to the benefits of pre-workouts, setting a solid foundation for their fitness journey.

Effectiveness

The only natural way to tell how effective pre-workouts are is to have a baseline week.

So, we got our team and volunteer clients to go through a regular week of training  while taking Gorilla Mode and another team taking Gorilla Mode Energy

Overall, the tangible improvements in our performance metrics were undeniable with Gorilla Mode. It wasn’t just about feeling good; the data, the increased reps, the enhanced stamina - every metric was a testament to the superior formulation of Gorilla Mode, echoing the insights of our dietitian.

Both products come in powder form, but it's important to compare the serving size. A Gorilla Mode scoop is just over 14 g, and Gorilla Mode Energy is just 3.6 g.

Flavor

Both products come with similar flavor options. But Gorilla Mode Energy is currently only available in six flavors, while there are 11 flavors available for Gorilla Mode.

I like having more options with supplements as I tend to get bored with the same flavor easily. And if you're picky with flavors, then you have a few more choices to find the ideal one and switch it up when you need to.

In my journey of fitness transformation, I’ve learned that value isn’t just in the price tag.

Gorilla Mode Energy costs $39 per tub, and Gorilla Mode is more expensive at $49. However, it's important to keep in mind that you get a lot more ingredients and physical effects with Gorilla Mode. Every scoop is a step towards a more intensified, result-driven workout experience, something I felt was worth every penny.

  • L-Citrulline: L-citrulline is one of the most studied ingredients when it comes to nitric oxide levels and muscle pumps [3].
  • Creatine: You'll find this ingredient in many pre-workouts, and we were surprised that Gorilla Mind decided not to include it in the Energy version. It's linked to improved muscle building and strength levels [4].
  • GlycerPump: This is a branded version of glycerol, and there is reliable evidence to suggest it impacts overall strength and exercise performance [5].
  • Betaine: Here's another amino acid that has been extensively studied to show a direct link to performance levels. A study of 23 young women showed that betaine improved lean mass, muscle thickness, vertical jump, squat 1RM, and bench press [6].

l-citrulline is a unique amino acid that exerts its effects on cardiometabolic health via direct and indirect pathways. The variety of applications for which l-citrulline has been utilized underscores the importance of l-citrulline in vascular health, protein metabolism, and lipid metabolism.
